Savvy's History

Before he was ever born, Savvy's Journey began with a chance meeting between two Bernese Mountain Dog breeders at a dog show near Taupo, New Zealand. A visiting breeder from the USA happened to meet Graham Langford, of Brienz Kennels, who was on the human side of the leash from a very lovely Berner named Moik. These breeders began corresponding and trading notes. From that day forward, Savvy was destined for Brienz Kennels - and he hadn't even been conceived yet.

Chrissy and Graham at Brienz would like to thank Savvy's breeder for all the time and effort she has devoted to making sure Savvy got safely to us here. From running two boys on so she could be absolutely sure that she was sending the best she could. The numerous trips to the vets for all Savvy's required vaccinations and tests. Then the epic journey half way across America in blizzard-like conditions, to deliver Savvy personally to the shipper. Not to mention the heart wrench of having to say farewell to a well-loved friend who she mothered from birth through 18 months. Esther has certainly entrusted us with a magnificent Berner. I hope one day you will return to New Zealand for a visit. Once again thank you for everything.

	On a sunny day in June 2006, Savvy was born to parents Panner and Mariah. He was one of eleven puppies and was almost always contender for largest pup in the litter. His brother, Vinny, often vied with Savvy for largest pup.

	To the left, Savvy is helping to make sure that his mother, Mariah, truly doesn't have any more milk.
Savvy never lets much get in his way of food. Shown here, he's almost 7 weeks old and climbed over his brother, Vinny, to see if there is any food left in the dinner bowl.


	Savvy's temperament is very clear to see in this photo of him on the left. He's about 7 months old here and he is every bit as mellow as this photo shows him to be.
